Kata beach lies just below Karon beach and Patong beach on Phuket's western coast. The beach is less hectic and less noisy than Patong. Kata beach is popular with families and a younger crowd but that is changing rapidly. The beach itself is quite wide and long but lounges and deck chairs do take up a long stretch of the beach.
