Ko Phangan or Koh Phangan lies in the Gulf of Thailand and is world renowned for its' full moon parties held on Haad Rin Beach. Other main islands which lie near to Ko Phangan include Ko Samui to the south & Ko Tao to the north.
Although Ko Phangan has a variety of attractions including scuba diving and water sports, most people come from all over the world for the monthly full moon parties. Full moon parties start at dusk when the beach at Haad Rin can have as many as ten thousand people partying away. A variety of music is played to keep everyone happy from techno to reggae and the dancing goes on all night and into the next day.
Ko Phangan can be reached from a short ferry ride from nearby Ko Samui which also has an international airport. Speed boats go back & forth
